Andrea Palladio, a visionary 16th century Italian architect used this material in many of the villas designs. These villas exist today and the Giallo Dorato used has aged well over the centuries. Palladio inspired Thomas Jefferson and his influence can be seen at Monticello and the University of Virginia.
