Celtic Lock™ Breton Metro
Our Celtic Lock line was inspired by ancient designs from Ireland. The use of interlaced patterns had its origins during the late Roman Empire. Knot patterns appeared in the 3rd and 4th centuries AD and can be seen in Roman floor mosaics from that period. These interlaced patterns began to be used in Ireland and are known today as “Celtic knots”. Use of these designs can be seen in monuments, architectural features, and manuscripts such as the Book of Kells from the 8th century.
