There is a growing demand for documentation concerning the lineage of décor and furniture products. Those who can prove their mettle will succeed, as consumers yearn for a planet-friendly life.

• We’ll see a renaissance of natural and tactile materials such as wood, leather, brass and stone.
• The use of browns and greens will help transpose nature, creating an almost “outside-in” feel.
• Texture will be intertwined with color, allowing a single color to take on multiple hues through elements such as blistered surfaces, suede, shiny patent, smooth mother of pearl, rough stone, matte crepe and cracked leather.
• Sustainable, energy-efficient products will be a must.

• There will be an increased demand for locally sourced stone materials and stone from within the United States.
• Consumers will require conscientious importing of stone with reliable vendors.
• There will be heightened focus on the ethical and environmentally responsible production and fabrication of materials.
• More and more stone waste materials will be used to create new product lines.
